Entertainment Really??

Reality TV is the new form of Entertainment, I get it!  I don't oppose it. Some of those shows I watch and LOL to literally!  From all the “Bravolabritys” and “VH1Wives” (Basketball, Football, Mob) Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, etc there is a little something for everyone.

My curious observation is this...

Shows like Housewives, and Basketball Wives are  major hits with Blogs, gossip entertainment, magazines and in some cases mainstream media.  There is some dark hole or gravitational force that has the masses wanting entertainment filled with Bitch Blazing Insults, Drink Throwing and Table Flipping.  The really dramatic ladies are seemingly even more coveted and they flood all media avenues with individual exclusive interviews to add more Hype to the Dramatic Foolery. And We Eat It Up! Why do we do this?  Why do we think its entertaining to watch women rip each other to shreds over pointless garbage?  I'm truly curious to have a better understanding of what we are plugged into?

What about those shows that are more uplifting and to some degree more Realistic. Some still maintain a low level of drama but lack condescending rants, fist throwing and blatant disrespect. Toya's Family Affair and  Keeping up with the Joneses, are two reality shows that I have watched or continue to watch that give you a break from the“oh no she didn't” moments.  Toya's Family Affair has its drama and it is filled with situations that reveal her mother's struggles and her young siblings crying and expressing themselves openly.  But do we love it? Keeping up with the Joneses was a Great show, Yea WAS! It was a show about the beautiful Tracey Ferguson founder and Editor-in-Cheif of JONES Magazine, taking her local magazine and growing it to a  popular national publication. Keeping up With the Joneses had excellent content and a positive message but it was on Centric (have you heard of it, do you pay extra to have it with your cable package). If you never seen it catch it at www.centric.com  Maybe major cable companies don't pick up good shows like that one because we don't watch or they can double or triple their money with fighting and bitch this bitch that banter.  I'm not the expert.
